Disruption – The Pathway To Resilience (2018)

IPWEA NZ is the Peak Association for the professionals who deliver public works and engineering services to communities in New Zealand. IPWEA NZ provides services to its members and advocacy on their behalf.

The Event:

Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia IPWEA are leaders in engineering and asset management for sustainable communities.  The mission, champion integrated management of services for communities through excellence in engineering and asset management.

TCT has been working with IPWEA up and down the country since 2001.  Our partnership includes year-round strategic planning, innovative ideas, flawless execution, registration logistics management, and a highly customised conference concierge service.

Continuing on from the success of annual conferences held in Auckland, and Dunedin – Rotorua was selected for the 2018 IPWEA NZ conference.  Built on previous themes around responding to change, the 2018 theme focused on how we can support our communities through disruption and changing times. “Disruption – the pathway to Resilience” is about building for the future, by accepting that change will occur, and that these changes can be embraced as opportunities to catalyse positive changes in how communities operate.

 The Programme:

A new format for 2018.  A two full day conference with functions each evening, optional activities and workshops, AGM & Welcome Reception, optional dine-around. The IPWEA Conference program delivered education, networking and entertainment opportunities generating important conversation providing attendees a break from the normal routine.


An exciting range of national and international keynote speakers provided a wide perspective of the influences on the industry, taking a closer look at some of the revolutionary developments that are expected to bring disruptive change to our infrastructure. In addition, top quality technical papers were complimented by a fascinating array of technical tours, with unique local flavour.  Evening functions included entertainment and the IPWEA Annual Excellence Awards.  Service and product suppliers were on hand with their latest developments and will have the time for relaxed discussion.
