For ANEC | Australasian Nurse Educator Conference Committee

TRANSITION, TECHNOLOGY, TRANSFORMATION (2017)

ANEC | Australasian Nurse Educators Conference was a well-attended event with both local and international delegates from a wide variety of educational institutions, clinical practice and also attracts new researchers who are embarking on their journey. This conference also provided the opportunity for nurse educators and nurses from clinical practice to network with their Australasian colleagues.

This conference embraced moving forward into the future of healthcare education with all its possibilities incorporating innovation, expanding knowledge and technology, while at the same time, looking back, learning from and honouring what has gone before.

Deliberately broad, this theme offers speakers and delegates an opportunity to be both reflective and future-looking, to consolidate, regenerate and push the boundaries of nursing education. We intend that a fusion of clinical and academic themes will be melded into an exciting conference programme.

Held in Christchurch/ Ōtautahi, at the newly constructed St Margaret’s College campus, we were able to showcase Christchurch’s reputation as an innovative, funky, regenerating city.

Consistent with themes of transition, technology and transformation, this conference was paper light. Meaning less baggage for delegates, and better for the environment. The programme was available through a dedicated Conference App for Smartphone users.
