Invitation..

On behalf of the 2010 Conference Committee it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2010 IFA Conference – “Simply the Best”. The IFA is, we believe, the premier body of financial advisers in New Zealand, and as such its Annual Conference aims to provide top quality speakers and workshops on relevant current topics.

This year’s conference is particularly important with the whole of the New Zealand advisory industry facing regulation by the end of 2010. Recognising this we have selected the theme: “Simply the Best” as a statement of where the IFA wishes to position all of our members (and itself) in the run-up to regulation. The theme was selected with four things in mind:
1
It promotes the IFA as THE professional financial advisory body in New Zealand
2
It promotes the use of "Best Practice Standards" by all IFA members - as would be expected of all professionals
3
There is, of course, nothing that builds success like success - so your conference committee aim to bring quality speakers and presenters to the conference, and
4
It is a "High Energy / High Impact" theme that promises challenge, excitement, enthusiasm & fun!
Accordingly, this year’s conference has been organised with the emphasis on education, preparation, and anticipation for the changing environment going forward. We’ve responded to member requests and placed less emphasis this year to the more traditional motivational sessions. The majority of the plenary sessions andworkshops are focused on providing instructive, relevant and timely information of a more advanced nature that can help you in a practical way with building your business.
With a total of 8 plenary sessions and 5 business sessions (of 4 streams each) scheduled over the two and a half days, we’ve ensured it’s a full and varied programme.
Recognising that all work and no play can be dull and uninspiring, the programme also includes time for the all-so-important networking and catching up with colleagues that is an essential part of any successful conference. This is part and parcel of the planned social programme designed to bring some fun and frivolity into a packed few days
We are committed to you, as an attendee, to get a great return on your investment! We are also deeply grateful for the business and financial support of our commercial partners for this Conference. We appreciate the investment of their sponsorship, time, energy, resources and particularly of their people. We are committed to ensuring that they too get great value for money.
